New TPM Theme: "simple and static vs a more beautiful interface"
Quote from Ali Scarlett on November 4, 2020, 2:38 pmHi, Lucio!
The question of whether to go with a theme that's more simple and static or a theme that's more beautiful is dependent on the goals of the website. That's, of course, also a debate that's built on the idea you can't have the best of both worlds.
The most important thing to take into account is your target audience. When the website is finished, we could do a poll in the forum that gathers valuable feedback on what the TPM community prefers.
Something else to consider is how the blog generates money. Beautiful themes are great for prospects looking to book you for speaking engagements. However, when it comes to selling digital products, what's more important is making sure your prospects don't leave the website before your sales pages have had a chance to do their job. So, a longer load time could be an issue there if it begins to annoy new site visitors out of staying. It feels like the theme would have to be so beautifully professional when it's finished that the longer load times are worth the wait.
If anyone else has thoughts, feel free to drop them in this thread!

If you anyone has any feedback on how it looks so far, I'm happy to hear:

Quote from Ali Scarlett on November 13, 2020, 1:14 amI'm finding myself loving the chessboard idea the more I see it.
I think the "As Seen On" section should be a strip right between Power University and your "About the Instructor". Something simple yet professional and effective like this:
You could adjust the color of the strip to match the color theme of the page.
Speaking of color theme, the logo might be better white. Here's a quick little edit I made to illustrate what it might look like:
Looks a bit easier on the eye than the current dark blue logo.

Now that you pointed it out the current one is indeed too tacky and not very classy. And great eye on the logo's color, that's what the designer also suggested.

If you guys have any feedback, let me know.
I'm personally not fully convinced on my "author picture".

Quote from Ali Scarlett on November 18, 2020, 2:23 amThere's a lot that I love about the new homepage design. It's organized, the location of the three sample reviews makes it a nice surprise when you scroll down, and the theme is beautiful. Plus, the "As Seen On" looks cleaner.
The "Learn how to be bad" section seems like a missed opportunity for the "chocolate-covered broccoli". To put that "Learn how to be bad" piece on the homepage right below your flagship course "Power University" might cause visitors to believe that Power University is only about defense and that there's no offensive value.
For example, possible interpretations could be:
Learn how to be bad … … Because it’s the only way of being good = (I came here because I wanted power. It seems this course focuses more on teaching how to be a good person, not what I came for)
Another possible obstacle could be:
Learn how to be bad … … Because it’s the only way of being good = (I disagree, you can be good without having to learn about the bad stuff. Maybe this course isn't for me)
Your previous homepage said something along the lines of, "Get what you want out of life," which is a line that might offer more promise to people that they can be more than a good person, but a good person who doesn't "finish last" like nice guys.
