Power University improvement ideas & feedback

Thanks John, that's already happening and many of the videos are already on TPM's channel, also ongoing and prioritizing the most important ones.

Hello Lucio,

yesterday as I was studying PU I thought: "it's so good how can it be improved even further?"

I mean "how is it even possible". And I had an idea about what would be helpful for me. A suggestion: 2 lessons :

  1. How to become an alpha male: with a roadmap, mindsets, etc. like in your article. I know many aspects are already covered in PU.I view it like that: like a program with instructions that when followed over a few months to a year helps to make this identity transformation
  2. How to become an eagle: same as above.

The goals of these two lessons would be for the learner to have feed-back on their own behaviours and mindset. To be able to self-learn: "do you apologize too often?" tasks: every time you check yourself apologizing make a mental note, did you do any harm? No then it was unnecessary. Do it until you have at least 10 times stopped apologizing for no reason.

And maybe you can only go to the next lesson when you have succeeded the mission. I don't know what you think about it. The goal would be transformation at the identity, mindset and behaviour level.

Thank you so much for the feedback and ideas (and kind words), John!

To quickly answer:

  • Alpha male section is coming , drafts and added examples are already there, need adjusting to be better than the articles, but definitely in the pipeline
  • Eagle is coming... On a longer time horizon (as this article explains, I'm frankly not yet ready to make an article on how to be an eagle and keep it factual and "real" without being too based on personal preferences and opinions)

Missions / checklists are an awesome idea, added it now.

And just as a quick spoiler, one thing that I'm thinking now is to have intros / summaries in video format.

These all sound exciting. Looking forward to it!

I actually thought the same about the videos watching one today: there used to be more videos of you if I’m not mistaken. As an intro I think it does make it more engaging and make the student more eager to go through the lesson: “this sounds so cool. I’m looking forward to learn this stuff”. So more emotional reward I think.

A feed-back on frame control.

It was already very good now I think it’s great.

Frame control is a tricky topic. You succeeded in making it an easy to learn and internalize topic. A limited number of techniques very well explained with great examples. It’s not possible to not understand this topic after having gone through the lesson I think.

I think the improvement on PU is a great example that we can always improve. It’s like the great basketball player or the MMA fighter who keeps training. We see him 1-2 years later we look at him and he’s like a completely different fighter (eg. Justin Gaethje) and we think: “how in the World could this guy become even better?”. Well he did so can we. Inspiring.

Thanks a lot!

Hello Lucio,

Here is an idea, I don't know what you think about it.

In PU, there could be a section called "scripts". This section could contain "scripts" for tricky social situations, like this one that you wrote. Or the one you proposed to Power Duck or to me about nasty social climber A.

You: I'm really happy to hear you say that because I respect you guys and would certainly be happy to work together (<---- keep the door open)
As for timelines, look, I'm very driven, I seek personal growth and knowledge a lot, and I focus a lot on the added value I bring to the table. (<---- frame of "I focus on adding YOU the most value", WIIFT)
And for this type of character that I am, to bring the most value, I feel that I need to grow even more. (<---- frames your rejection as you wanting to add even more value. For them? Maybe... With this frame you could add huge value to anyone though, so they'll need to win you over)
(add more details on how you want to grow)
I know, it's a bit of a perfectionist thing in a way (<---- carefully crafted vulnerability), but I hope that at least the patients and the hospital would benefit from it (smiles)

I think there's a lot of value in them. The tricky social situations are numerous but not quite infinite. So over time, this could build a database of "Scripts for tricky social situations".

I agree with you John, I think it's a good idea: responses learned by heart help to deal with complicated individuals/situations.

Personally I believe that  a: set of frames and minsets to use in those kinds of situations  could be really valuable too. That way we would be able to create scripts ourselves, so we would have the ones proposed here in TPM and the ones created by us/other forum members.

Basically the teaching to fish/feeding for one day analogy.

Glad to hear what you and Lucio think about this small addition to your idea.

Cheers.

OFF TOPIC

I'm lately experimenting with less power protecting and with voicing my ideas even if I "believe" (more than belief it's a fear of disempowering others) it could hurt/potentially disempower people. So if something feels disempowering feel free to post it in feedback & clarifications.

Awesome, awesome idea John, thank you for sharing!

And thank you for also adding the "+1" Power Duck, it's twice as useful to know what more people also think it would help.

I will write it down and I'm already liking the idea of adding these in the next upgrade.
