Reputation Hacking: Tai Lopez & David Buss Example

Says Tai Lopez:

Lopez: Dr Buss my evolutionary psychologist Mentor calls that

I heard Tai say that several times.

Now David Buss is associated with a marketer who has been branded a scammer by many.

What does that say of Buss?
It probably doesn't help his image.

General rule:

The better of a reputation you have, the more people will try to use you. They gain with your reputation, you lose by giving it to them

This is all the more true with marketers and scammers who always need to borrow reputation.

Tony Robbins is not a scammer, but he's a marketer.
And he did the same with Serena Williams and Bill Clinton.

BTW, Tai is an absolutely smart and well-learned guy.

Even wise at times, I'd say.

Contrary to some others that I only listen to learn/find examples, I actually enjoy many of his interviews

Pity that he seems to be quite materialistic and went for any shortcut possible, without much care of delivering value back.

Important correction:

Tai Lopez paid Buss.

Either monetarily directly, or attracting him with "luxury" tools nad lifestyle:

Tai: I got Dr David Buss been my mentor since 2014 (...) I've paid it sometimes. For years he's done it for free (...) I would fly him out you know pick him up in the Ferrari.
He's like a Harvard guy it was like a cool life for him, take him out in Hollywood, beautiful women... I didn't pay him for years

This is also a great strategy to get academics to endorse you.

I've noticed the same from Ray Dalio as written in The Fund (review coming soon)
