Forgot about this one. I'm more familiar with the "agree and redirect". So, it's only after Lucio pointed it out that I realized this is a form of the agree and amplify since you did agree to the task and elevate it into a joke.

Yeah, and a joke about the other guy being your "boss", thats the number one problem I see there, there may be ways to use jokes better than that, some joke more "sterilizing" as per Lucio terminology or higher in power. (like: yes boss but only if you lick my balls/kiss my hand first... optional: "just joking, this time you dont have to please me". If he escalates and say: I dont like your homosexual jokes, you can answer: and I dont enjoy being order around by my equals) or something much more subtle than that, lol

Yes, those are the types of one-upping jokes that properly answer to his one-upping tasks and would deny him having any claim of status above you.

Stef also goes to the core of the question there.
If he is your equal, he has no right to order you around or task you.

Thanks. Those foul mouthed type of jokes don't suit me. But I absolutely agree with your general message.
