Trump's Tweet to Greta: A Good Power Troll
I often commented on Trump here.
And I said that he sometimes make the mistake of giving too much importance to adversaries that he should instead ignore (see Rapinoe).
He is the president now, he shouldn't entertain every single political opponent who happens to think differently.
However, I feel his trolling of Greta was spot on.
Greta's video is spreading like a wildfire. Yet, in all the power of her passion, anger and vulnerability, there lies a weakness: she looked bitter, at times hysterical and at times her facial expression might have seemed overly aggressive.
And when she said "you are destroying my childhood", I bet that some people thought "well, how about you enjoy your childhood kid, stop blaming others, you're also shouldering some responsibility for harboring so much anger".
And that's exactly where Trump's tweet hit.
Trump went STRAIGHT to Greta's weakness. Trump said, without actually saying it, that Greta is an a hysterical girl who is throwing her childhood away.
And she should go back to enjoy being a kid instead of blaming others for her own predicament.
Of course, a president should still avoid accusing minors and descending to their levels.
But for Trump being Trump, this was a good move.
