Quote from Matthew Whitewood on July 7, 2021, 11:01 amThe first one in my opinion.
It does look like an actual bible.
The 3-dimensional perception also looks good. The second one has a bit of guru-like vibe to it.
I think because it comes across as over the top.
And also there is a novel-like feel to it too.I'm not sure personally.
Because the second one could actually spark people's attention better.Though, in the first one, I think replacing the "pure distilled wisdom" with "It All Starts With The Mind" would be good.
I think if one wants to convey that the book is a distillation of the best strategies for the mind, something like
Power Starts with the Mind.
Master Your Ego, Emotions and Darker Drives with these Distilled Strategies.Another Angle
I think one can choose to paint a few different kind of perceptions:
- Scientific and rational
- Exciting and inspirational (I think second one may convey this)
- Gold standard (First one with the bible vibe)
- Get readers to visualise what it's like to implement the book strategies
On the last point, I think something like this may portray the book well:
To capture the attention of people who like meta-thinking and appreciates that one can improve what goes in the mind.

For the 3D aspect, that can be added later.

Quote from Matthew Whitewood on July 7, 2021, 3:36 pmAhh I see!
I think if you like this design, making it look "hard cover" may make the book look more well-made.
Even though we all know it's a soft copy.
Though no big deal if this is inconvenient. If the colour of the stem blends more seamlessly with the front cover, I think it may look better.

I sent a revision request now for:
- Several books as the base, rather than just one
- An eagle rising from them
The idea that of empowerment through "condensed wisdom", plus the recurring theme of the eagle.
I'm also redesigning the logo by the way to make that eagle more prominent. Lots of changes going on :).
Thank you Matthew.

Quote from Ali Scarlett on July 7, 2021, 3:53 pmAgree with Matthew here, second one feels a bit "too much".
Current one is still my favorite, yet, maybe we ought to change the title on the spine from "The Holy Bible" to "The Power Bible" for consistency.
If you did want to change the current book cover design, I'd go for something simple yet professional:
E.g.
And, maybe avoid too much red in the new cover from a buyer psychology perspective.
I've sometimes pondered what it would be like to minimize the amount of red while still having the best of both worlds by making the current cover part of a bigger, newer whole.
Here's what I mean:
The black is sleek, and it maintains the current cover that's brought in sales thus far while still making things new and fresh.
For more attention, perhaps a blue contrast would be more eye-catching:
Something else I've often pondered about the cover is if it can leverage the website theme's gold/yellow (a great example of the exact color is in the homepage):
Or, a more classic look:
Only spit balling ideas here, is there anything you guys like about these designs that you'd like to see in the final product?

Quote from Matthew Whitewood on July 7, 2021, 4:05 pmThose are some awesome designs man!
Wow, are you sure that you are not a professional?I personally think the last one is best.
The proportions and colours seem to fit just right.

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on July 7, 2021, 4:09 pmBOOM!
That's some awesome stuff, Ali!
You guys preciously bring me back to earth.
I'm so bad at judging designs that I jump with "this is great" at pretty much anything I see :).Now that you make me thing about it, the fiery eagle soaring towards the sky would look more like a fantasy sci-fi / novel. And probably too tacky, too.
Ali's yellow and black versions, the last 2, look awesome to me.

Wow, are you sure that you are not a professional?Ahaha, I'm flattered man, thank you 🙂
And, glad you like them, Lucio!
I like the last two as well, it seems like the general consensus (so far) is to move toward something completely new and fresh (away from the current design).
Another spin on the second to last design would be to use the sleeker color contrast of the last one:
Still, this design aside, I really like how the one Matthew mentioned looks like a professional, complete non-fiction book with lots of notes and references. Looks more scientific than this design in my opinion.
What do you guys think?
P.S.:
Here's a side-by-side look for comparison.

I told the designer to experiment with the brain design, and:
