First review of an author/"guru", rather than a resource:

  • Alex Hormozi: rating Alex's quality of advice, character, and social strategy and techniques

Very good book on strategy:

Little fluff, no over-the-top examples with little application to real life, but just what strategy is, what's not, and how to come up with good strategy.

Hello Lucio,

thanks a lot. As you might remember, I've been looking for a good book on strategy for ages. So I downloaded it and am looking forward to listen to it.

Yeah, I remembered that John and thought about it :).

By the way, wanted to add a comment: some of the times I say a book/course/resource is great and there's a review, I don't necessarily also mean that it's the best investment of one's time -especially when there is a review out, which is meant to cover the most important information, in a shorter amount of time-.

Hello Lucio,

thanks! It makes total sense and I could read the reviews as a learning tool. I learn also through the listening that helps my mind make connection and have new ideas. That being said, your comment is helpful: I'll make sure to keep this in mind before listening to a book. I am now seeing that there is another option: I could read the review and/or listen to the book.

A book trying to answer the millennia old question:

Does power corrupt?

  • Corruptible: a captivating premise with deep questions, great insights, important takeaways, and... Unluckily a woke/progressive bias that probably capped the book true potential

But I did take some lessons away for future Business University.

The Power Broker:

  • The Power Broker: FANTASTIC book to understand the psychology of many power-seeking, as well as to understand many strategies / techniques of those men

It's super long though, it literally took me weeks (probably even months, been a while that this review was ready actually and don't remember the exact timeline) so most folks are better off with this summary/review.

Not a "new" review, but had to edit "Predictably Irrational".

Dan Ariely has been accused of fudging the data, and from what I've seen, it doesn't look good for him and his "work".

New textbook:

Great great overview of the research literature on social status, it will inform and provide a great resource for both articles and PU.
