Counter salping: against a social scalper

Some people even deny the existence of different types of intelligence.
And that alone, to me, raises questions about the intelligence of those people :).

I think what many people argue is that general intelligence (G) may be applied to different stuff.

Example: let assume 2 boys (twins) have the same G, but one go to live to a place full of books and with little oportunity to socialize

He may end with high verbal skills and  high Academic "IQ"

The other twin for some reason no one teach him how to read, and go to live in a place with intense social life, and then he develops an extreme Social "IQ".

In that case both are equally intelligent, intelligence is just one and almost the same for both, but as they have developed or poured that intelligence in the development of different task, skills, that creates the illusion of many "inteligences" existing.

I thinks that is the point some researcher argue, but little people would deny that different manifestations or skills exist.

external circumstances, like living in different envirnoments, just make it more obvious, but many other characteristics of the individual that are not "intelligence" per se, like tastes, in complex ways may end affecting the manifestation and enrichment of that said intelligence.

It just like the people who is ok with gay marriage but they dont want it to be called marriage, because for them marriage has to be between a man and a women, so gays can have exactly the same but with a different name like "gay legal unions" or whatever.

Well that same happens with the word Intelligence, it seems some want to reserve it only to G and the most traditional manifestation of it, like verbo-logical intelligence.

the problem is ,imagine someone who is incapable of basic reasoning, for example he can not get that 2 +2 is 4, yet he is good with his hands and able to do some pretty art. Is he "smart" because he has high "manual dexterity+art" IQ... well for many it does not sound convincing.

Then some belive the theory of multiple intelligence is popular because it is politically correct, since even the most dumb person in the world should have something he is good at, he then may claim he is smart, just in a "different" way, and some of this ways may be truly reflecting intelligence, but not all of them.

This may be just a semantical stuff, for example: instead of emotional IQ, I preffer to think in terms of aplying whatever IQ I have to the handling of my emotions, but "emotional intelligence" sounds like a contradiction in terms (not always as sometimes emotions may tell us something important, but if the rational part of us fail to get the message usually it would not produce any good result, so then again not sure if this emotional wisdom by itself can be called intelligence), I would preffer "old plain intelligence applied to the emotional side", the same as "social intelligence" I just see it as the application of regular Intelligence to social stuff. It is just social intelligence is more catchy.

Also some types of intelligence, like verbal, seems to be usefull in the sense that if you are able to get good sources of information, you should be able to improve in almost any other area, unless you have some personality anomaly or extreme circumstance preventing you from it.

Very good argument, Stef.

I'm not still not fully bought in with denying the different types of intelligence, though.

It might not be a coincidence that a guy like Elon Musk hasn't poured much of his G into mastering relationships, dating, socialization, or politics in a big corporation.
It's because he liked the tech stuff more, and because he got far better feedback on tech than on socialization. Probably because he was naturally better at that.

Still, it's a very good clarification you make, so I linked to your post from the article in question.

different types of intelligence

Yes, I am open to the possibility that there may be more than one, how many, I am not sure, they should not be too many though, or the concept of intelligence will end losing precision, unless they have something very strong in common that we can use to differentiate it from other constructs like talent, skill, etc.

A concept may have an optimun of elasticity.

I would apply Ockham razor here "Thou shalt not multiply extra entities unnecessarily,"

Ahaha masterclass quote, man, you should find your way into a TV show one day, being the wise man he host turns to when it comes to one authoritative final opinion, then you drop a closing argument, attach a great quote, and everyone goes "ooohh" 🙂

I agree with you anyway, it can't be too many.

In the case of "mating intelligence" for example, that's probably just a specialization of social skills, which in turn is part of emotional intelligence -albeit some researchers have also criticized the existence of emotional intelligence-.

Why Women Select for Intelligence

  • I would add something pretty obvious here, Intelligence can be the key to adcquire power and resources. And is what made our species a top/apex/alfa predator in the food chain.

And I suspect that food chain continues intra-humanity metaphorically and maybe in some dark circles even literaly…

I saw you mentioned exactly that here:

“There are many important traits that help increase one’s own sexual market value which are also linked to intelligence.”

Humor (which is a form of intelligence

The closing parenthesis( “)” ) is missing.

Cooperation is stronger than the competition.

Cooperation is stronger than competition.

Some authors or sources focus on one side only of the coin.

Some authors or sources focus only on one side of the coin.

It reads easier in this order.

But by focusing on one single element of the equation, many authors in those niches miss out the true forest.

But by focusing on one single element of the equation, many authors in those niches miss out the complete forest.

complete sounds more appropiate since the elements are not necessariously "untrue", they just dont give the full picture.

But what’s worked for those people won’t necessarily best the best strategy for you.

But what’s worked for those people won’t necessarily be the best strategy for you. (or you mean to best/ besting as a verb?)

Furthermore, in many cases, the most ardent proponents of a certain strategy aren’t even having success with it.

  • And as you yourself have said before (and may be worth mentioning in that article), giving bad advice that sounds like good advice can be a very good dark sexual strategy plus you get paid for harming the competition with misinformation and taking their money (double hit).

Being able to talk and communicate feelings communicates emotional intelligence

No matter how good you are talking, it’s always better to let your speaking partner talk more.

Almost always, to avoid generalizations?, I am more cognizant about generalization thanks to you Lucio, I have always disliked them.

Gender Ratios’ Impact On SMV

  • It is just almost basic “supply and demand” after all

On average, race matters more for women than for women.

.

Men don’t seem to have an inbuilt preference for a rigid amount of fat.

Yeah yet this is not infintely elastic, I think more importante is proportions (e.g hip to waist ratio) and fat pattern distribution, two women exactly the same but one put all her fat in the belly, and the other in the ass, well they will look totally different ant their SMV would be affected accordingly.

I know with “plumber women” you mean something like Doja Cat, not morbily obese. There is a clear difference between a fat ass, and a fat women with a fat ass, but some "body-positive" people pretend they dont get it.

  1. Eyes / nose shapes

I understand smaller noses with moderate frontal exposition of the nostrils are usually preffered in women.

In men a big, but not too big, nose may be considered more masculine.

Stayed alive for long enough to raise children (sound more natural to me)

Asexuals

  • Some manipulators fake some aspects of asexuality or reduced libido traits to keep power in sexual dynamics. (the ones who needs less or pretend to need less sex may get the upper hand).

sometimes when I get paranoid I wonder if women just dont fake their "lower libido" collectively to have higher bargaining power, thats part of the reason why women punish "attractive easy-women aka sluts" so much, they make sex cheap so women lose some power as a collective.

But not all rules have the same amount of exceptions, with some rules being almost universal and others being little more than a coin toss.

  • This is just extremely important to keep in mind! some people dont get that some rules are ALMOST iron rules vis a vis others that are just very weak.

Attraction is not simply what she likes but, in big part, also what other women seem to like.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/René_Girard#Mimetic_desire

This guy here devolep a whole pretentious system fo philosophy based on the concept of desiring what other desire precisely because they desire it. And he deduced some rather pesimistic conclusiones from that premise...

This mimetic desire may break at some point back in the distant past, cause someone should have been the first one to desire something before someone else could copy his desire, if not we get a regression ad infinitum.

This preselection stuff also happens in the animal kingdom so there may be a strong biological component to it,(it may predates homo sapiens), primates seems to have primitive culture or proto-kultur, so the line dividing the purely biological from the cultural are not that clear in my opinion, I dont want to get to philosophically about that right now.

But if everyone dresses terribly, then nice clothes will make you stand out like nobody’s business.

I dont know how this works in the extremes, but I have read one should dress just a little better than the people around, so you will stand out but not too much, like it would be weird to be the only one in a formal fashion suit in a place where everyone is in shorts and pijamas.

(you may pull it, or you may end looking like a social retard)

Finally, finding a niche is all about advertising that niche.

I am not clear how you can advertise something you have still not found?

You mean one can create his own niche by advertising the qualities that would be attractive to the estereotypical crowds of those niches?

Sexy Body Language for Women (Feminine & Hot)

Sexually explicit body language outside of a of the sex realm can easily become tacky though.

Well, this is a very interesting topic, but let’s keep this article on more public expressions of attractive body language.
And maybe I’ll do one post just for “during sex” body language later on.

  • @lucio let me know when that one is out, and if there is a version for males

hey will all disappear when the sexual becomes too obviousl

The submissive and protection seeking body language would take the edge off of her purely sexual body language so she wouldn’t look “whorish”.

The second OF is unnecesary.
