New TPM logo: feedback?

PreviousPage 2 of 7Next

Thank you guys!

Yeah, disregard the spelling for now, it's a designer's typo.

I'm telling the designer to change the bird shape.
It might seem more like a "classy" bird right now, but lacking somewhat in power and conviction.

I think adding a critical eye could help:

I like it, thank you Matthew!

I really like three. The boldness of the letters helps me feel a boldness and power in the brand and brand's content.

The elegant cursive of the other logos are stylish, maybe even classy. But, for me, they lack prominence. And, the style of those letters is incongruent with the font used around most of the website anyway.

Lucio, feel free to take a look at the notes I made for DPD as well.

We got some proper eagles now:

One

Two

Three

Four

Five

The designer seems to have missed that I wanted the article "THE" on top of "power moves" to save longitudinal space.

But that's easy to fix and I was mostly interested in eagle icons now.

And they all seem a step forward from the previous one. As a matter of fact, the previous one looks more like a dove now :).

Thoughts?

One

I like the eagle design, yet the eagle feels a bit disconnected from "power" and "moves". Maybe we can apply the eagle here a different way.

Two

The bird is clearly an eagle, which is great. Plus, the design looks cool and somewhat inspired by Matthew's design suggestion above.

Still, I'm seeing a giant letter "I". And, that's hurting my readability.

So, I'm wondering if the eagle's head can be to the right of the logo's words. And, if the eagle could have a giant wing that the words fit inside of.

Three

Might be my favorite one so far. It looks the most "finished" to me.

The eagle is clearly an eagle, and it doesn't take away from the title. Both are allowed to shine.

Plus, the boldness of "The Power Moves" is congruent with the boldness of some of the main fonts used around the website.

This logo grows on me the more I look at it :).

Four

This logo feels like it's straight out of a movie.

I love how professional it looks—as soon as I saw it I assumed Lucio had switched designers (no offense to the others, of course, this simply looks so well made :).

That said, the wings being shaped like a flame, white underlines, and positioning of the design elements causes the logo to look more like it's for a luxury real estate company than anything else.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of using a royal design for the TPM brand.

I think TPM thrives more in being elegant (no ads, content is organized along with a table of contents, etc.) than in being royal (which is often confused with "luxurious").

And, I also think that the TPM brand is more fitting with a logo that represents power (boldness) and practicality than "stylishness" (lots of cursive usages) and "fashion".

Awesome, awesome feedback, thank you Ali!

On the number 3, would you also see it working well if the "THE" was placed on top of "POWER MOVES", and the eagle on the side?

I'm thinking about that option to potentially save some horizontal space, albeit I guess there's no harm in using both versions depending on the available space.

Yea, I think it could work:

You might notice we'd draw in the "fly with the eagles" a bit closer so it's not sticking out on its own. So, the added spacing of the previous, longer design helps more with that line's readability.

But, that's a small con here, especially since most of the smart, driven individuals reading around TPM are less likely to have an issue with a minor detail like that.

And, to quickly expand on one of my ideas:

I'm thinking that instead of golden bars, this could actually be one giant wing.

3rd Logo

I think this is the only one that suits the tagline of "fly with the eagles".
The action of flying seems consistent with the growth mindset theme of this website.

1st, 2nd, 4th Logo

The other eagles don't seem like they are flying.
One, Two & Four look like stationary eagles.

Last Logo

I think the last logo conveys more dominance and conquest from the outstretched wings and the logo being on top:

Powerful but doesn't really convey the vibe of becoming a high-quality individual and collaborating with high-quality individuals.

Ali's Modified Design of 3rd Logo

The design by Ali seemed to balance the focus on the different elements really well:

I like the flying eagle on top of the word "fly".
