Boom! Thanks John!, I'll be coming back from time to time to check your last post reply with the links.

About Spain’s libertine culture: I did not know about it. To me it’s more conservative than Northern Europe for instance. Do you live in a big city? I think there’s more variation of sexual behavior within a country between country side and city than between countries.

It's true that Spain used to be very conservative, but I would say that now is different specially for the younger generation. About countryside and cities, I used to live in a little town and I would say that people there were more sexually reserved since almost everyone knows each other. Imagine your grandma knowing you hooked up/cheater her friends granddaughter, for sure a strong incentive to not go crazy in night clubs.

Haven't been in northern Europe so maybe it's even worse there.

What I mean is I advise against in this situation to go and talk about: “what you did there was not cool”.

Totally agree, low quality young people see proud value taking as cool. And when a proud value taker knows that you don't appreciate "jokes" you'll be in the receiving end of them the whole time.

From what you say I feel that you think about going the player pathway. If that’s the case from all your reflection about power, being respected, etc. It makes sense. As a friend you know I support any choice of yours (except the harmful ones of course). As a brother-in-arms I think it’s the right way to go based on your whole situation.

Thanks man.

Thank you! Yeah I did not know hook up culture got to Spain as well. It makes sense. It's 2023: social media, etc. Religion is dying there now as well I guess. It becomes more of a cultural heritage than something the majority of people practice.

Since you use subliminals, maybe these are of interest to you:

Max Momentum: against procrastination. It just works.

Super Alpha Male 6.0 Apex: their flagship program. This one it's difficult to tell you exactly as I used it some time ago. I use it now the refresher 1 loop at the beginning of my playlist.

How I use them: I make a playlist of 7-8x the same track of airplane background and I play it in my sleep at a volume that is loud enough but lets me sleep. I do this for a full month before I change program. Ideally I think it's better to do it 2-3 months. But there are so many cool programs that I want to move forward fast.

If a program is important and I finished it I play 1 loop of the refresher before going to bed. My current playlist: Super Alpha Male and Mega Life Success, each one loop, then it's Max Momentum x 7 for a total of 8.5 hours.

Several things I've realized this morning after socialising:

  • I have to speak in a lower pitch of voice, since my bad speaking habits returned.
  • I have to move and speak slower, for starters do everything a bit slower, but steadily.
  • Adopting high power behaviour makes one mentally high power and viceversa.
  • I get a bit nervous when talking in groups due to low power behaviour.
  • Respond to power moves later in case you didn't address it in the moment.

I've also tried being more outgoing (in this case higher energy) for a bit:

  • I risk coming across as a try hard/weird, this is good. This means I lack the skills needed to be outgoing without losing power.
  • It's easier to socialize this way plus have more fun and have more leeway to maneuver.

What I'll try this morning and the following ones:

  1. Have very strong eye contact.
  2. Move and do everything slower, usually scanning the room slowly with your gaze, looking to people in the room in the eyes from time to time.
  3. Speak in a lower pitch of voice.
  4. Keep being outgoing but more easygoing, you've already gone today through uncomfortable moments and didn't care.
  5. Smile less.

Since those are issues you fixed in the past, but started doing it again you'll have to keep special attention to your behaviour and power "account", if you lose power dial up the dominance.

Updating 5th point, from smiling less to only smiling a bit with low power individuals.

Since my reputation and status in my college degree isn't that determined and I used to be a pushover (I don't have a fixed group of friends so either I'm alone or Im with different people each day). I receive lots of power moves on a daily basis, I check most of them but some are hard to check when almost everyone pulls nasty power moves from time to time.

So from now on I'll stop smiling at all with people I know could pull moves, the most I'll do is smirk a bit.

Yeah Power Duck I agree with you. It’s worth experimenting with different behaviours contrary to the ones we used.

To start a social circle, the basic is to bring value. The most common value denominator socially is to give fun. So basically organizing events. Basically you choose 2-3 people you hit it off with and you organize a restaurant, a dinner at your place (if you leave alone), a board game, a bowling, pool/snooker, after work (beers), laser game, etc. I would start with something that is low investment high value for people/students. Beers at uni after classes for instance. They don’t have to move and it’s cheap. The first person is the most critical. Once this person accepts you have a group. Then it’s easier to invite people to a group event as people have group behaviour and there’s more value for them if there’s more people.

You can check my own thread on social circle (on my phone difficult to link,  if you don’t find it I’ll link to it).

You can also check Lucio’s (excellent) PU lesson on this. Once you do that you have a group. And then rinse and repeat. You’ll get to hone your social skills (defense, vibing, leadership, connection, giving value). So I recommend it.

I think it’s important to have friends. So worth it. You don’t have to hang out with them all the time but at least you have this option.

Regarding the attacks hang in there. It’s about the social skills. It takes some time (6 months to a year) to reach a comfortable level. Once you do people will actively want to be your friend. You can check out Lucio’s best reviews on social skills and go through at least 3 books from the list (rough estimation but no 1 book has it all). So I would focus on social skills and self-defense (PU) based on what you write. I would stick with studying these until you feel comfortable defending and having a cool social circle. My 2 cents.

And of course studying PU from beginning to self-defense and focussing on that. PU and the forum are our secret weapons!

Thanks John.

Now that you mention it, creating a social circel by myself seems like a better alternative, joining an already stablished group is less value adding than inviting people to have some drinks and depends less on myself. I'll check out your thread as well as PU lesson this weekend(will have to make a list since lately I have many things that I would like to see).

Hmm, it's been a long time since I don't read about social skills outside of power dynamics, seems like it never hurts to go back to the basics. About not giving up and being patient with the one-upping, right now I see this stage as the stage of struggle and fighting, I know that a year from now I'll look at the past and think: "It was so cool fighting and struggling against the odds and the assholes". About the 6 months you've already gone through this and thrived with probably more experienced players so you talk from experience.

Thanks for the encouragement, and for the feedback, it's helpful for sure :).

Personal note:

Since focusing on too many things is hard I'll focus on one thing for 3 days, will write my progress here:

  • Lower pitch of voice.

Hey Power Duck,

thanks for the kind message! Yes you definitely have a buffet in front of you. So I think what matters is your priority: what will give you the best ROI? It’s up to you. Then you have a plan and you can go from there. Of course it will change like any plan.

I came here to say that my posts above were unrequested advice but it seems you’re not mad at me :).

Anyway let me know if some day you feel like I’m overbearing or pushy. Sometimes in my enthusiasm to share what was helpful for me I can forget the other person and project on them what I feel/think. Or want unconsciously to feel superior (not the case here). But please let me know if you feel like it. I want to be a friend. And sometimes I can be clumsy about it. So now you know how I feel.

Anyway it’s the opportunity to tell you that my enthusiasm comes from your own fire. It looks like you’re going at it. So hats off to you. I think you’re walking the talk. It’s not that common. Anyway all of this takes time and it’s a never ending journey. As you say the reward is sometimes in looking back at the person you were and look at the person you became. Then you can pat yourself on the back because no one else than you knows what you had to do in order to transform. That’s the beauty of it. It’s not mandatory and it’s not for anyone else. It’s a choice that we make by ourselves for ourselves.

Here I am rambling again hahaha. But you see what I mean I’m sure.

Respectfully,

John

Its value adding advice, so there's no reason to be mad. I supposed you advised me out of good will.

The same happens to me, specially when I'm enjoying the conversation so no problem. I'll let you know if that happens again if I can provide value adding feedback. However if what you're saying is helpful and doesn't frame me negatively I don't mind if the feedback comes across a bit like "teaching", you're more experienced and more knowledgeable than me in certain things, as discussed here a value adding teacher empowers both parties.

100% agree. Sometimes it's the only thing we can do in order to not lose motivation and keep going towards our goal.

Today was a sh*tty day.

Each day I receive more and more power moves, while I usually would check them with assertiveness or dominance, the thing is that:

  • In college people don't give a f, they may retreat when faced with dominance, but they will wait for any opportunity they have to strike you, be it laugh at you behind your back or pull moves in other occasion.
  • If one goes assertive they will pull the same move again and again in an attempt to push your buttons and further disempower you and/or frame you as angry. Since there are several people who do this, they have the numbers advantage.
  • A couple of individuals and a frenemy spread negative information about me behind my back (names they call me among the info), so  nasty individuals who didn't know me now have a new guy to target.

I know this is affecting my self esteem due to how power dynamics affect our mind. However I refuse to give up, the fact that I have such a hard situation to face means I have a huge challenge to overcome. The negative emotions I'm facing are the emotional baggage they carry around, as wicked and sick individuals they want others to share their misery, as well as feel better about themselves by pushing others down. I refuse to let cowards determine how I will live and how I view myself, I refuse to let that scum tell me how I am. If I have to become the most socially powerful individual they have seen in their lives in order to change the roles and fight evil so be it.

"The mind adapts and converts to its own purposes the obstacle to our acting. The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way."

It's a difficult situation, and people more expert than me may be able to provide better advice than I am.

Knowing the specifics may also help more.

However, I would surmise that just the fact that you "know what's going on" makes a big difference.

Entering into a situation while totally unaware of what's going on has a totally different vibe and even physical effect vs. entering into it knowing something bad is happening.

I guess I'm saying you already have an advantage here - that of being able to see it all as a big experiment, where you can tweak things going forward more and more.
