Hello + Updates (What I'm Doing, Where & Why)
Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on November 8, 2020, 3:34 pmQuote from John Freeman on November 7, 2020, 4:39 pmHello Lucio,
yes, regarding attachment styles there is lots of info about it. However the key info is missing such as the « how ». Like how to develop a secure attachment style if you’re anxious, avoidant or anxious-avoidant. If you remember that was one of my first questions. I found that you’re very good in taking knowledge and turning into practical examples and applications. I think that is what is missing on this topic. At least I have not found yet such resource.
Cheers!
That's a great point, John.
And you're totally right.
That crucial information seems to be mostly missing.I can see myself moving closer to a secure, but I don't yet have full clarity on what exactly it was.
So until then, or until some research shows a clearer path, I'll be holding off on that one (but so far I'd agree with Kellvo that general self-development, and self-awareness do probably do the trick).

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on January 2, 2021, 9:55 pmIn terms of travels/physical location, I'm stuck in Germany during this second Covid wave.
The Christmas decorations are awesome, I like the December days, it's January / February that have the least offer compared to other periods of the year.
In the years prior that spot used to be difficult to walk around because of the crowd
I was overly optimistic when I first read about the vaccine, thinking that by March we'd be over it.
Well, yesterday I realized I was (badly) wrong. So these days I'm also thinking about some different possibilities in terms of location / travels, and whether or not moving at all is even possible in the short term.
WORK: YOUTUBE FOCUS
I've been focusing on YouTube recently, updating some olds videos, updating the playlists, looking for good videos to use as examples for articles/PU, and releasing some new videos.
Albeit the new videos are still amateur-production style, they're far better than the old ones, so in terms of quality, I'm happy. In terms of views/subscribers, it's in line with the channel size, albeit less than I had expected/hoped (sometimes videos pick up late though, so some jurors are still out).
READING: ANARCHO CAPITALISM
I've finished reviewing "Anatomy of the State" by Rothbard, many thanks to Stef and Anon for putting him on the map, it was awesome.
Either that one or "For a New Liberty" from the same author, and which I'm still listening to, will go into the "best red pill books" list. They both will go to support an article I have long in mind and that is also crucial to this website's philosophy. It's about "healthy individualism" as a form of personal empowerment.
I'm also reading "I'll Make You an Offer You Can't Refuse", by "Michael Franzese", a guy I've recently discovered. I'm listening to him on YouTube while eating, much to learn from.
Next Up: Seduction (Yaaahey :)
Next up I want to listen to "Atomic Attraction" and then to "Swoon", I long to get back into seduction... At least in terms of reading, in these cold and dry days of lockdown :).

Quote from John Freeman on January 3, 2021, 11:43 amSwoon is awesome. You're going to enjoy it.
Unrequested advice: if you want to improve the quality of your videos, I think an easy and small improvement is to work on the background. If the viewer sees that you're at home, it does look (kind of) amateur. So I would find a (virtual) background that could resemble the godfather environment or something like that. Leather, fire, etc: browns and deep reds, something warm. Also, the clothing part. You dress well, that is not the issue. My recommendation would be to dress more formally. No need for ties but I would go for formal shirts. I learned this at my current job: lined up and checkers shirts are the way to go to look professional. Few examples below. And not show chest hair if possible. Your style and the background is great (painting of lovers) ! However, it would be more fitting for seduction advice than advice about power dynamics I believe. Your tone of voice (descending at the end when you're delivering a powerful truth) is perfect, please don't change it!

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on January 3, 2021, 11:36 pmThank you, John, great advice!
I will check if my current editing software allows for an easy change of background (that would be cool).

Yes, it screams "Power". I mean the background, not the sweater. ;)

Positive persuasion power move there: use as an example an individual that the receiver already holds in high regard.
John hit that 100% :).

Quote from Lucio Buffalmano on April 9, 2021, 5:47 pmTraveling through the U.S. these days.
Getting in required some paperwork, but once in, it's currently more open than Europe (except for Cali):
Flyboarding with Miami in the background
Present Work: PI, Machiavellianism, "Enlightened Individualism", PU's Philosophy
The "focus" on YouTube didn't yield great results -albeit that "focus" was a mere few videos-.
Somehow, YB was strange for TPM.
One of the very first videos on The Godfather did relatively well, and some successive ones which I thought were better in terms of quality -that's relative- and in terms of execution -that's less relative- stagnated.
Not sure why, and SEO is a very inexact science, so not going to pursue it any harder.I think there is a lot of potential on YB, there isn't much high-quality stuff on social strategies, power dynamics, and general social effectiveness.
Maybe one day I'll get back to YB, but for now, it will not be the focus.Instead, I've been focusing on a few key articles for this website, which include:
- Power Intelligence: why power intelligence matters in life. An important article for TPM
- Enlightened Individualism: in preparation, it's central to TPM's philosophy. Then I'll draft an intro and presentation on that general philosophy and life's approach that will go into the "Start Here" section
- Machiavellianism: it's an aspect of PI, but a very important one as there is no good resource around. I have a lot of notes on this one, and I'm also reading and researching on it, there is some very juicy research on the topic
Next Steps: Finally, Seduction University?
Seduction University is a bigger project.
The "backbone" is there from PU, plus I've collected lots of notes and links to video examples over time.
So 85% is about putting it all together.
But putting it all together, to do it well, requires days and blocks of consecutive time.
SU is not going to come out well with a few hours here and there. Doing it properly means hunkering down for a while.
Only that way you can properly follow the structure, get into that "generative process" that ties together different loose ends, and vividly remember what's already mentioned in previous lessons -which is necessary to keep the course "tight"-.So... When?
I'm thinking to go back to Korea for spring/summer where I've had a great time last year, and instead of seeing the quarantine as a punishing two weeks, to use it as the perfect opportunity for preparing and launching SU.
If I don't that, it's challenging.
Reading: Machiavellianism + Seduction
I'm focusing on two topics these days:
- Machiavellianism
- Seduction / dating: I have already researched a lot on the topic of course, but I've added a few smaller gems. I've read some from Alan Roger Currie -good but didn't publish reviews (yet)-, something more data-based, and listening now to "Mating in Captivity"
The most interesting though were two books from the same authors on seducers and seductresses (reviews coming soon) who break the mold and achieve success doing almost the opposite of what modern dating coaches recommend, such as: chasing, investing a lot, baring their hearts out.
FEMALE ALPHA SEDUCTRESSES: A NEW GROUNDBREAKING APPROACH TO DATING STRATEGIES?
I've found the history of seductresses, for women, to be especially interesting.
There seem indeed to be some women who managed to be successful in spite of age or looks.
At first blush, they seem to all have something in common: they act more like highly driven men, sometimes even like like dark-triad men.
And they seem to be successful among men who are "exceptions", in the sense that they appreciate women more like women appreciate men: for their power, success, status, drive, character, ambition, skills, etc.But I need to look deeper into this, make sure it's true, and make sure it's not a woman's fantasy.
I need to double-check some of the examples to make sure the number of male suitors are indeed large, that some of the men are really smitten, that they include high-quality men as well, and that they're not all passive/submissive men -which would somewhat reduce the effectiveness of the seduction approach-.I think the author is onto something. Maybe this might be a new approach to female dating strategy that has been largely ignored, missed on, or flat-out denied.
But of course, TPM's approach is to make sure.
