I write this article based on first-hand experience, having been to Thailand many times, dated Thai women both in Thailand and in the West, as well as having been an acute observer and listener of other people’s experiences, including coaching men to achieve their dating goals in Thailand.

Strategy, Value & Honor Note: Be better than a sex tourist!
This guide analyzes the asymmetric Sexual Market Value (SMV) and cross-cultural mating strategies related to Thailand. While the article’s focus is on achieving intimate outcomes, full consent is always implied and only the minimum first step. TPM promotes a life of personal empowerment, optionality and honor. We distinguish between the “high-value strategist” and “low-quality tourist”.

First, a reminder: you have sex with Thai girls the exact same way you have sex with all other women.

But these tips will help you to maximize your potential:

1. Use Your Higher Mate Value

Foreigners and white men enjoy a sexual market value boost in Southeast Asia, meaning: you become more attractive (good SMV boost).

If in your home country you have lower relative SMV, for Thai women you are still better than local average men. If you are average, you become attractive man. And if you are a high-value man, your sexual market value goes through the roof.

There are several reasons for this, including that foreigners are perceived as:

1. Wealthier
2. Higher status
3. Smarter / better educated
4. More masculine & ambitious

Contrary to what some say say, money is only one reason why foreigners are popular in Thailand.
Indeed, you don’t need money at all to get laid in Thailand. I spent more money dating in Europe than in Thailand.

For many Thai women, white men are also a status symbol.
Some women, and this is true across East Asia as well, are proud to have never dated a local guy -up to you what to think about that-.

Men who fail to realize their increased value miss many opportunities.
Don’t do the same: act and behave like the high-SMV hunk that you are.

Limitation: Thailand and Bangkok have been overrun by tourists, so moderate your expectations. You won’t be a unique snowflake in the age of globalization (unless you go really remote).

In Summary: you are of higher value in Thailand, act like it.

2. Avoid The ‘Farang Jerk’ Trap

Unluckily, there are some bad apples among tourists.

Jerks, strong of the currency exchange and the “white man boost”, get even “jerker”.
They go on a power trip and believe that “rude” is how you display power.

Locals put up because they need tips, and so these jerks don’t even realize the ceiling of their behavior.
They may date a bit because of the SMV boost and they will think they’re “slaying it”.
But they repel the highest quality Thai women.

Differentiate yourself from these fools: understand the difference between a high-quality man and an asshole.
A high-quality man is knowledgeable of his value, moves fast, and demands respect. But he also respects people and makes it a women for the women he dates.

In Summary: Be confident and high power, but also warm

3. Dress Well, Display Status

Most tourists in Thailand wear shorts, ugly shirts, and flip-flops—no wonder many guys believe you need money to date well.

Sure, it might be comfortable, but if your goal is intimacy with Thai women, then don’t be a slob and dress the part.

I remember being out with a friend in Thailand who wanted to meet up with a nurse he was seeing. I was with him and his girl was somewhere else with a girlfriend. So it seemed like a good fit. Typical of Thai girls, she asked him to send them my picture.
He did.
Her reply?

His Girlfriend: Wow

My friend seemed even slightly jealous.
But there was nothing to be jealous of. I’m not a “wow” guy in the slightest. The only thing I had going on for me was an awesome white shirt in a world of ugly T-shirts.

In Summary: if you want to sleep with Thai women, dress like someone who sleeps with lots of women (ie.: well).

4. Leverage Dating Apps

Dating apps allow you to take maximum advantage of your value boost and cast your net wider.

As per the point above, upload a couple of pictures where you are well dressed, ideally looking cool and powerful with a suit and tie. I met a few women who were not sure whether to meet me or some other guy and then chose me.
Always the curious and investigative type that I am, I asked to see the profiles (and conversations) of those guys. I was shocked at how hunk-like some of them were. Rugby players, big gym types, and plainly handsome men.
But I had well-dressed pictures.

Go for something similar:

Again, this is not the West.
Some Western girls will think you’re trying too hard, but it works wonders with Thai girls in Thailand.

In your description, avoid saying crap like “traveler”,  “adventurer” or “globe-trotter”. You already have “white guy” and “exotic points”, you don’t need to play those games to inflate your value. You will look try-hard by stressing your “lover” qualities.

Write instead something like:

“busy man who prefers a coffee or drink to long chats :)”.

This way, without coming across as abrasive, you make it clear you’re not into long chats and prefer meeting in person.

In Summary: to have sex with Thai girls, take pictures in good clothes, and cast your net wide with dating apps.

5. Move Fast

One of the advantages that foreign men enjoy in Thailand is that they are almost automatically considered sexier than local men.

When it comes to providers, friends, or lovers, it’s far easier for you to be considered a fast-moving lover.

That means, in practice, that you can allow yourself to move faster.
And that’s exactly why money often doesn’t even come into the picture.

Here is a good approach:

1. Check in advance your hotel doesn’t stop guests
2. Meet close to your hotel
3. Propose you grab a drink and go back to the pool
4. Go to your room instead (say nothing, most of them know what’s up)
5. Start kissing their neck
6. Move to the bed

6. Prioritize DTF Girls (if you seek short-term)

DTF stands for “Down to F*ck.” In psychological terms, you are looking for women with High Sociosexuality—those comfortable with uncommitted, short-term sexual strategies.

If you take full advantage of your high-value status, you have lots of options.
And the advantage of having lots of options is that you don’t need to put up with delay games, investment requests, “chase me” games, etc.

Simply next the gold diggers and time wasters and move to better prospects.

In Summary: to sleep with Thai women, ruthlessly cut through the time-wasters to focus solely on the ones who want to sleep with you.

7. Never Lead With Money

Money changes the nature of dating.

If you ‘throw’ money on Thai girls, you move from a sexy foreigner to a guy who must pay for intimacy -NOT sexy-.

Avoid it.
Cut off women demanding money or gifts and stick with the women who like you for who you are. After you get together, then you’re more free to invite them fo whatever you lie.

Exception: if you’re very wealthy and don’t care to throw around money, then it can be an effective and genuine approach to dating.

In Summary: don’t make it about the money, make it about the two of you.

Bonus: Don’t Mislead, You Can Sleep Around Without Lying

There is this idea among some white men that Thai women expect dating to lead to something serious.

I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anything more stupid. Most women adapt to the man’s approach and are not stupid.
If you move more like a player, they know full well what’s up.

But sometimes you meet a more traditional girl though and, because of less-than-ideal verbal communication, a misunderstanding might happen.
So if you don’t want anything committed, avoid chatting with them too much or text too often after sex.

As a matter of fact, it can be a good idea to actually show that you’re not long-term material.
You can hint at it, say it straight up, talk about your travel plans, or even be open about your other Tinder and Line chats.
They will see it and understand:

But this shouldn’t be an issue. When you’re not too available, women will understand without having to have any “conversation”.
Sometimes in my life, I have had some great connections and kept in touch against my better judgment (one more example here), and that wasn’t a great idea.
The truth is that it’s almost impossible to have a “special connection” with a woman you have sex with and keep it “as friends”. One of you is bound to fall and want to do more.

Physically In Shape

Attractiveness depends on personality and tastes.

In terms of “exotic beauties”, I would probably place Thai girls below Koreans -who enjoy bigger bosoms- and Kazakhs -who enjoy the mix of high Mongolian cheekbones and white Russian beauty-.
But above Japanese and Chinese.

Even women with good curves, will consider themselves “fat”.

Thai girls are awesome, both in personality and body, including great chest and booties. And yet they consider themselves as fat and “too fat for Thai guys”.
Looks like Thai guys really like thin :).

‘Flatter’ In Breast and Buttocks

Locker-room talk mode on: I always thought of myself as more of an ass guy.

However, you realize how important breasts are when you find yourself with a really flat-chested woman. Completely flat is different than small breasts.
It’s a strange, androgynous feel that 100% straight men won’t enjoy.

And Thai women, often thin, also have a higher incidence of flat chests than other nationalities. Some of them keep a bra anyway so you might miss on it.

And, like many other Asian women, the incidence of flat asses is far higher than among white women and, obviously, than among black women.

High Variance In Quality

The Thai women that will sleep with you fast aren’t the highest quality for long-term.

Culture and nurturing also matter, and this is true anywhere in the world.
Unfortunately, women raised more in poverty tend to adopt a faster life strategy (Ellis, 2009) focused more on short term: short-term uncommited intimacy, fast consumption, little saving, and higher risk for disloyalty.

English also tends to be poor.
I met women from online dating only to find out she was talking through a translator and could not speak English. I attended one of the best Toastmasters in central Bangkok and even there I couldn’t find a single girl with good English -including one who had lived in the US for years :S-.

Of course, please, never forget this as for everything else, this a general tendency, and you can always find plenty of exceptions.

More Traditional & Supportive

Thai girls have traditional roles, and see themselves as supporters of the male figure. It won’t be a rare occurrence that Thai women will offer to cook you food or bring you food from their places.

There is a bit of a cliche that Asian women are more submissive.

Well, as it’s often the case, cliches have a backdrop of reality in them. And Thai girls in bed tend to be more submissive -and passive-.
To put it with the words of what one Thai woman once told me “do whatever you want to me”.
LOL, I bet you now really want to get a Thai girl don’t you :D.

Phone Addicts

These days you’d be hard-pressed in finding any girl -or anyone really- who’s not addicted to their smartphones.

Yet, Thai women are also addicted to pictures. If you date one, get ready to delete a lot of meaningless selfies, food pics, “just woke up” bed pictures, and lots of Line GIFs (Line is the local Whatsapp BTW and it’s much better).

Thai Girls: Easy, or Wife Materials?

The hookup culture in Thai big cities is strong.
Thailand and Thai girls have a reputation for “easy sex”, and for good reasons. If you’re a white tourist, you will meet plenty of girls who will quickly and easily come back to your place.

But that might be misleading: Thai women are quite extreme in their sociosexuality distribution. Indeed, as much as there are many easy-to-sleep-with women, there are also more reserved and sexually inexperienced Thai women than in the West.

Of course, more reserved Thai women are also more hidden: you’re not gonna meet them in bars and clubs.

You need more social circles to meet more reserved and more wife-material Thai girls.
Day game is also good, but you need to be good at overcoming the strong initial resistance of more conservative and shier women.

However, traveling in search for ‘loyalty’ is fraught with risks and men must be power-aware to avoid traps.

What to Expect In Thailand

Thai girls are awesome and Thailand is fantastic.

But, as for anything, there are pros and cons.
This is what I don’t like about traveling to Thailand:

Some street harassment

Your white skin may be attractive to many women, but… Not just women.

Street vendors, pimps, and various hustlers can get annoying.
Taxi drivers will slow down and some will even honk if you refuse to look at them.

And all rickshaws and tuk-tuk drivers seem to think every white man needs a lift.

And that’s not even to mention the street ladyboys (Kathoey):

Guys, if you are not into ladyboys, watch out.

There are many, and many are distinguishable from women.
They like foreigners of course, so you’re a target for ladyboys.

If you like them, you’re in luck.
If not, well… Be careful.

Note: there is no hating on ladyboys here and this is not a space for hating on anybody. They can be as wonderful as anyone else.

A toxic dynamic of power, dependency, & deception

That’s the macro-level dynamics in Thailand: foreigners are higher power and locals are kind and love their money.
But behind the fake niceness of the “land of smiles”, Thailand is ready and happy to swindle tourists.

Many “bad” tourists & ‘sexpats’

With millions of tourists, there is everything in Thailand.

From couples to female solo travelers to the thriving community of digital nomads in Chiang Mai.

However, there is also a seedy underbelly to Thai tourism.
Many foreigners are only there for low prices and prostitution. Including, sadly, underage prostitution.
Even some of the most popular massage clubs in Bangkok have underage women -though they say they’re 18. Yeah, sure-.

For example, thousands of German retirees live in Phuket and Pattaya, which have become open-air brothels.
Not wanting to shame-attack anyone. But it’s a fact that many low-status men end up in Thailand, and we wish better for our readership.

How to Date High-Status Thai Girls (‘Hi-So’)

There are more dating opportunities for men in SE Asia, Thailand included.

However, the advantage inverts with higher-status Thai women, locally referred to as ‘Hi-So’.

A high-so Thai woman has power and status and has traveled the world. She won’t be impressed just because you’re white -and maybe repulsed by the negative stereotypes

Average Westerners in Thailand are below the Western average.
They may be good catches for lower and middle-class local women, but they don’t have any extra appeal for higher-status ones.

Instead, Westerners face a prejudicial stigma with higher-status women.
This is a classic example of Negative Social Signaling. Because the ‘sexpat’ demographic has saturated the lower-tier market, high-status Thai women use defensive filtering to avoid being associated with tourist-level dynamics.

These ‘sexpats’ often date lower-class, party-types, or ‘darker’ women who unluckily are still stigmatized as ‘less appealing’ in Thai culture.

It’s different in, say, the Philippines.
The Philippines experiences widespread lower socio-economic conditions, so the fewer foreigners there are more appealing across the board -including higher status women-.

But because of the general low-value of many white expats, Westerners face a stigma of sleaziness and lower standards with the higher-class Thai women. As a group, that frames them as lower value for the upper class.

Of course, you’re reading here, so you’re better than that.
But in a society that values conformity and social approval, high-class Thai women may still have reserves in fear of being judged as promiscuous.

Solutions:

• Become locally high-status
• Socialize and meet via social circle
  • Socialize within chambers of commerce and the likes
• Dress well, but match it with good income or you’re framed as a ‘gamer PUA-type’
• Learn Thai
• Display you’re different & above the average expat. That must become part of your ‘game’
